The bad stuff about my HTC dream phone

Posted on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 8:24 am

There’s the good stuff about my Google Android HTC Dream phone, and we all thought it was perfect. If you look at some of the reviews in my blog but… the downside?

Few things first.

The battery life. There was one instance where my battery icon was green. Strangely viagra from canada it was green throughout the whole night till the next morning. So I thought, “it must be because I didn’t use the phone.” I was wrong.

There was a problem with the battery icon, in particular the battery life percentage function. So if you look into settings>about phone>status>battery life, you’ll realize its on the higher side.

The next day I did a call on green colored full bar phone and went out. While I was traveling I tried to unlock my phone. Then…

All I see is a red light flashing. Its the first time I saw this, and at first I thought my phone was dead. After trying to revive (by taking out the batteries), I went home without using my phone for a day. A full day went pass without my phone, how bad. Good thing is after recharging the battery, it all went OK.

So perhaps I need a full charge and off my little program called battery graph… was suspecting this little utility here that it is eating or reporting my battery life wrongly.

Motivational thoughts for money health #3

Posted on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 10:28 am

After reading the halfway through this book “Make money, Be happy”, I came out with my own simple logic about money health mentality of people around us. I think we think this way, and this is quite powerful to motivate me to go further on my finances.

There are 3 ways of how people think about managing their money.

I am poor, born to be poor, and I will never be rich

For this type of people, for every $1 they receive, will find ways to spent their $1 off, and ends up with $0.

Before doing anything, since they have determined that they live poor, they will spent that $1 away by wasting it on some stupid stuff, and end up with no money.

I am spendthrift, very careful in spending, and I save everything I have for the future

This type of people, for every $1 they receive, will find ways to save their $1, and ends up with $1.

This is typically us. We tend to save everything we have, Though we do spend, we save after spending. It is better than not saving, but in this state of mentality, we try to save as much as we can and hopefully “save” a pile of fortune. Which… sadly we know it doesn’t work.

I am rich, and I think rich. I will be rich if I keep trying it.

For this type of people, for every $1 they receive, will find ways to invest their $1 to get higher returns, and viagra in canada ends up with $1.

This is the kind of mentality that very few of us adopt. Only the rich people will think of it, because that is how they ended up there. For this group of people, they will try ways to invest their $1, into getting back $1.10, or even $2. This kind of thinking allows us to keep pushing the limit into finding ways to increase our assets.

How I manage my money for March 09

Posted on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at 9:32 am

In March, I am just trying to save whatever I can. Having seen the un-stability in all financial markets, nothing is safe and sound. The banks might crumble anytime, but let’s hope the recession doesn’t affect us that bad.

And since the POSB MySavings interest rates has fallen to 0.4%, its time I pull the savings out, bit by bit first. (I was told by the bank teller my interest rates will fall if I withdraw, but hey its already so low, who cares?) On another note, I was thinking to increase my savings to Citibank, since it has a not-so-bad interest rate.

Around the corner on the last day of March, I got a performance bonus from the company I worked in, roughly $2000. Not much, but its very good its times of crisis, and since it is a “reward” for my performance in WY 2008.

I’ve canada viagra just gotten an account from POEMS, an online internet trading platform for buying shares, funds, unit trusts, and options etc… In 2 weeks time I should be able to buy shares online. That would make a better and meaningful experience to write down here.

Nothing much on my expenses list, there isn’t really a need to spend this month. Just a Life insurance premium to Manulife.

Here’s this month’s breakdown:
Savings and Earnings

$2000 Employee Bonus
$500/month Citibank Step up Account (I guess this is the highest paying account currently)
$300/month POSB MySavings (this is just temporary hmm…)

Expenses
Insurance - $600
Some clothes - $100
A new Pillow and pillow case - $100

Taekwondo Teaching Classes experience

Posted on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 6:45 am

Teaching Martial Arts had been one of the stuff I do last time. Before I went to National Service, I taught up to 5 lessons a week. I do teaching in some classes, some learning, and some training.

There was a period where I had intensely taught Martial Arts, so much that I was given the chance to “own” a small class. I was the main instructor for that class of about 15 students. I taught about 2 years to those students ranging from 5 to 14.

It wasn’t that bad, as I already had some experiences teaching while I was in Brown belt, and I personally know my stuff very well. There had also been some learning to communicate, to people and teach viagra canada them a new skill, from pattern Poomsae to kicks, to basic blocking and stances, etc etc.

So at that time my main role is to teach these students their color belt Poomsae so they can go for the grading test to advance to the next level. This means they’ll advance through Taekwondo’s color belt system all the way up.

Hmm I’ll blog about some of my experiences during my time, or even now, as I do teach Taekwondo as well.

Review your web traffic sources - Web traffic analysis #6

Posted on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 9:13 am

Reviewing your traffic sources is one of the most interesting and challenging tasks. When you review, in other words analysis your traffc sources, it tells alot about where your visitors are coming from, be it unique or repeatly visitors.

Any types of web traffic, Small and medium enterprises, MNC businesses, retail shops, will face with these types of sources. Typically, there are 3 types of traffic.

Direct Traffic

User types in your domain name and access your site directly. This means the user already knows your site through some other means, like offline advertising in buses, TV, radio media etc

Search Engine Traffic

User types in a keyword in a search viagra on line prescription engine, search engine shows your site on its page. Another name for this is organic traffic. This is where your keywords are important such that the search engine is able to index it. Both GA and Awstats will track and record the keyword search terms used to gain entrance to your site too.

Referral traffic

User clicks a link on a page that has your domain name on it. This can appear in a simple hypertext link, or a banner ad, or a link in forums or social sites.

Below, I have put in some examples that you’ll see from your Google Analytics. You can gather these web traffic stats from any software that you use to track, but this is more visual viewing and illustrations here.

This is my web traffic for www.golfswingplaneblog.com

Onto this web traffic, we see quite a huge traffic coming from search engines. As the traffic is still quite small, and the site is still young, we can’t really say for sure this is the actual web traffic percentage breakdown. Since the nature of this site is of timely updates and videos, it should be expecting more search engine traffics.

We see only 4 direct traffic, which is probably generated by me, and other referral sites, probably from one of the article sites. There can be very deep and detailed analysis about this traffic, and what are the plans to do in 3 months, 6 months, or a year, to improve the traffic percentages.

On this traffic stats, the 3 traffic are split at a bigger pie, with the referrals even bigger. This is due to a lot of “advertising” done on external sites, with links. I expected a bigger direct traffic, because the nature of this site is static and informational, much like a corporate site.

I should be working hard promoting it offline instead, though I recently did an SEO with some appropriate keywords and tags to increase the visibility on the Search engines, so do expect some search engine traffic too.

This site is my baby, because it is a closely related to a hobby of mine. Initially I wanted to put my music site together with this blog, but it ended splitting to its own. In the first 3 months, the site has traffic quite evenly squared out. But now since the site has grown with much content and the search engines has indexed it properly, the Search engine traffic increase by a lot.

I would expect the direct traffic to increase, (it has been increasing slowly) and this means more users have remembered my domain name properly, and wants to access my site directly. This site was meant to be both informational, educational, as well as to share my stuff with others.

These are some kind of reviews to some of my sites, and their traffic analysis to show you how important these sources could tell you about.

That’s all for my post on web traffic sources analysis and review!

Some Costs saving Tips for everyday uses #2

Posted on Friday, April 10, 2009 at 6:14 am

These are just some random cost saving tips, similar to those from the first post.

1. Buy used or second hand stuff

Look around your house, and you will realize some stuff lying around are simply… old but still useful. We don’t always need new stuff, so viagra natural let’s make good use of old stuff. If you don’t mind, I hope there’s a second hand shop somewhere around your neighbor, with tons of stuff ready for a second life. Buy them and it could save you quite a bit. (eg. My 2nd hand Kawai upright grand piano cost $4,200, but the original price is tagged around $16,000).

2. Keep a list of items and their prices

Keeping in mind what’s the price of an item helps, if you are not sure of the “usual” price of an item. If you know them well, or keep a list, you can easily compare and contrast as to why an item is sold higher than other places, or lower. There maybe 10 products that serves the same function. It is therefore wiser to choose the cheapest, unless it differs with some extra functions you need.

3. Calculating the lifespan of a product

It is frustrating to buy a shoe that costs $50 and it lasts less than 2 years wearing out at the sole or breaking away. While a pair of shoes that cost $150, it could last for at least 6 years. I remember there’s a brand called “Caterpillar” which produces very high quality yet lightweight shoes. If you can “estimate” the lifespan of a product you are buying, I would rather you spend slightly more money to get one that lasts. (eg. IT gadgets, quality apparels)

Remember, these little tips can add up to lots of amount after a long time.
